About Us

Born out of my love for women’s sports, this is a blog celebrating amazing women in the world of sports.

Why women’s sports?

Because women’s sports are awesome!

In July 2011, my family went to Great Wolf Lodge to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. I had been watching the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup on and off that summer and decided to watch the U.S. play Japan in the finals while I waited in the hotel room for everyone to get in their swimsuits. Unfortunately, they didn’t take long enough, and my mother was demanding that I turn off the TV. I begged her to let me stay in the room and watch. I thought it was more exciting than anything the indoor waterpark could offer my 12-year-old self. She said no.

I blame her for the loss. Just kidding, mom!

That was the moment my love for women’s sports began. To this day, I’d still rather watch women’s soccer and basketball over men’s.

As a journalist, I love hearing and telling people’s stories, and as a sports fan, I’ve always been drawn to the stories of athletes and coaches. Sports journalism is the perfect combination for that, isn’t it? Through this blog, I have the pleasure of sharing the inspiring stories of women in a variety of roles in sports.

Whether you come along for the ride or not is up to you. The ball is in your court.
